CVE-2026-44712Public exploit

Root command execution via unsanitized configuration values

Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026

OS command injection in mcdope pam_usb before 0.8.7 allows local users or physically proximate attackers to execute commands as root. tools/pamusb-conf interpolates a device UUID into a shell=True command, while tools/pamusb-agent passes the configured userName to os.system(). Exploitation requires either a crafted USB filesystem UUID with physical access or write access to the XML configuration; triggered helpers then run the injected command as root.
