CVE-2026-44707Network attack vector

Account takeover via retained preregistration password

Published May 26, 2026 · Updated May 26, 2026

Improper authentication in Chatwoot allows remote attackers to retain account access after a victim completes an OAuth sign-in. The OmniAuth callback marks an existing unconfirmed account confirmed without replacing the password set during preregistration. The affected range starts at 2.14.0 and ends before 4.13.0; exploitation requires email/password signup and OAuth on one user pool, plus preregistration before the victim's first OAuth login, after which the attacker can read and modify dashboard data.
