Arbitrary file creation via unvalidated path construction
Published Jun 11, 2026 · Updated Jun 11, 2026
Path traversal in raszi tmp before 0.2.6 allows remote attackers to create files outside the temporary directory through crafted options. The _generateTmpName path builder inserts prefix and postfix into a generated name, then passes that name and dir to path.join() without rejecting traversal or verifying containment. Exploitation requires a consuming Node.js application to pass attacker-controlled options; created files inherit the process's filesystem privileges.
