Indirect prompt injection in Eclipse Theia before 1.71.0 allows attackers to execute commands or exfiltrate data through a malicious workspace. The AI chat agent incorporates attacker-chosen file and directory names into prompt context without separating them from trusted instructions. Exploitation requires a user to open the untrusted workspace and invoke AI features that process those names; task definitions or Markdown rendering complete the reported attack chains.
