CVE-2026-44663Public exploit

Heap out-of-bounds write via HTJ2K integer overflow

Published Jun 18, 2026 · Updated Jun 18, 2026

Integer overflow in OpenEXR 3.4.0 through 3.4.11 allows context-dependent attackers to trigger a heap out-of-bounds write via a crafted EXR file. In ht_undo_impl(), 32-bit signed multiplication of each decoded channel width by bytes_per_element wraps for large widths, corrupting offsets later used in pointer arithmetic. Exploitation requires an application to decode attacker-controlled HTJ2K content; the resulting write can corrupt image data and interrupt the process.
