CVE-2026-44655Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped project name

Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026

Stored XSS in MantisBT 1.3.0 through 2.28.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject HTML through a crafted project name. The Move Attachments admin page directly echoes the stored project name into a table cell without HTML escaping, so attacker-controlled markup is rendered when the page is opened. Setting a project name typically requires manager or administrator access; the resulting markup is confined to that page, and Content Security Policy restricts script execution.
