Cross-agent file deletion via unscoped record removal
Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026
Incorrect authorization in LibreChat 0.8.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete files used by private agents. The DELETE /api/files handler removes a record by file_id without scoping the operation to the shared agent presented in the request. An account with editor access to one shared agent can invalidate the owner's unrelated private-agent references, leaving those agents with stale file identifiers.
