CVE-2026-44648Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via unrevoked session cookies

Published May 29, 2026 · Updated May 29, 2026

Insufficient session expiration in SillyTavern before 1.18.0 allows remote attackers with a stolen session cookie to retain account access. The change-password and recover-step2 endpoints update only the stored password hash, while stateless signed client cookies remain valid because no server-side revocation state exists. Exploitation requires a previously obtained valid cookie and user interaction with a password change; the retained session can perform every action allowed to the targeted user.
