Authenticated account enumeration via missing IAM authorization
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
Missing authorization in the Yamcs IAM API before 5.12.7 allows remote authenticated users to enumerate user accounts and groups. The listUsers, getUser, listGroups, and getGroup handlers in IamApi.java return directory records without enforcing SystemPrivilege.ControlAccess. Any authenticated account, including one with no assigned privileges, can learn usernames, superuser status, and group memberships; no data modification is exposed.
