CVE-2026-44590Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated CI command execution via workflow interpolation

Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026

Command injection in Sherlock Project Sherlock before 0.16.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands on its GitHub Actions CI runner. The validate_modified_targets.yml workflow directly interpolates attacker-controlled data.json key names into a shell run block, so metacharacters become commands. Opening a pull request triggers execution without approval or review and exposes the persisted GITHUB_TOKEN, enabling pull-request writes and repository reads.
