Cross-site scripting via unsafe script serialization
Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Vercel Next.js allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript in visitors' browsers through crafted content. Next.js embeds serialized beforeInteractive script content into the document without HTML-escaping attacker-controlled values, allowing the data to escape the inline script boundary. Exploitation requires an affected application to combine beforeInteractive scripts with untrusted content and a visitor to load the resulting page.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
