Cross-user memory disclosure and deletion via missing authorization
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Authorization bypass in Open WebUI before 0.6.19 allows remote authenticated users to view, delete, and restore other users' memories. POST /api/v1/memories/query omits owner scoping, while update and delete operations accept another user's memory ID without enforcing ownership. Any standard account can expose stored memory content and user IDs or disrupt another user's saved context; update disclosure requires a valid memory ID.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
