Authenticated file write and deletion via path traversal
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Path traversal in Open WebUI before 0.6.10 allows remote authenticated users to write and delete server-accessible files via audio uploads. The upload route joins an unsanitized multipart filename to the upload directory, so dot-segments escape that directory before the file is deleted. Any authenticated account can reach the HTTP route; writes and deletion are limited to paths permitted to the web-server process.
