Authenticated content disclosure via unchecked vector queries
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Missing authorization in Open WebUI before 0.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to read private RAG file and knowledge-base content. In get_sources_from_items, three input paths send user-controlled collection identifiers directly to query_collection without checking file or knowledge-base access. Exploitation requires a valid account, a known resource UUID, and content already indexed in the vector store; disclosure is read-only.
