Log disclosure via missing WebSocket origin validation
Published May 14, 2026 · Updated May 14, 2026
Cross-site WebSocket hijacking in Kubetail Dashboard before 0.14.0 and CLI before 0.16.0 allows remote attackers to read logs. The dashboard's WebSocket upgrade handlers accept cross-origin requests without adequately validating Origin, letting an attacker-controlled page open a log stream with the browser's ambient session or basic-auth credentials. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to visit that page and the attacker to know the dashboard URL; access is read-only and limited to Kubernetes logs available to that user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
