Remote service hang via abandoned DHT query
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Denial of service in Nimiq core-rs-albatross before 1.4.0 allows remote attackers to hang DHT request handling via a peer response. handle_dht_get returns on record-verification failure without completing its oneshot or clearing per-query state, while dht_get waits without a timeout. Any untrusted network peer can trigger the path without authentication or user interaction, leaving the affected caller future hung indefinitely.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
