CVE-2026-44489Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Proxy identity spoofing via inherited credential properties

Published Jun 11, 2026 · Updated Jun 11, 2026

HTTP header injection in Axios 1.15.2 allows remote attackers to add attacker-controlled proxy credentials to proxied Node.js requests. The utils.merge() path rebuilds config.proxy as a plain object, and setProxy() trusts inherited username, password, and auth properties when forming Proxy-Authorization. Exploitation requires a separately polluted Object.prototype and an explicit proxy configuration; it can spoof proxy identity, poison audit logs, or cause request failures.
