Proxy credential disclosure via stale redirect header
Published Jun 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Information disclosure in the Axios Node.js HTTP adapter before 0.32.0 and 1.0.0 through 1.15.0 allows remote attackers to read proxy credentials. During redirect proxy re-evaluation, setProxy leaves an inherited Proxy-Authorization header on a request that changes from proxied HTTP to direct HTTPS. Exposure requires an authenticated proxy, enabled redirects, a non-proxied target, and a redirect shape that does not strip the stale header.
