Workspace code execution via unsanitized dotfiles URI
Published Jul 7, 2026 · Updated Jul 7, 2026
OS command injection in Coder before 2.29.7 and 2.30.0 through 2.30.1 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted workspace URL. The dotfiles registry module interpolates dotfiles_uri directly into a shell script, causing command substitutions and separators to execute before the coder dotfiles CLI. The one-click path requires an authenticated user to follow a mode=auto link to a template using the module; execution begins inside that user's workspace.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
