Host code execution via pre-scan lifecycle scripts
Published May 26, 2026 · Updated May 26, 2026
OS command injection in Lumiverse before 0.9.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as the server process via an extension. The Spindle build path runs bun install with lifecycle scripts enabled before assertSafeBackendBundle inspects the extension's distribution files. An Admin or Owner must install the malicious extension, although a later auto-update can introduce the script after an initially benign installation.
