Nil-pointer dereference in free5GC NEF before 4.2.2 allows remote attackers to trigger request-level HTTP 500 errors through a PATCH request. PatchIndividualApplicationPFDManagement reads problemDetails.Cause after an upstream error returns a nil problemDetails pointer instead of using its locally built error object. The trigger requires an upstream UDR access failure that attackers do not directly control; Gin recovery confines the effect to the request rather than terminating NEF.
