Request interruption via unchecked nil UDR response
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in free5GC PCF before 4.2.2 allows remote attackers to interrupt SM-policy requests via a crafted POST. HandleCreateSmPolicyRequest logs a failed UDR OpenAPI lookup and continues, then dereferences the nil response structure. The SM-policy-control route accepts the trigger without authorization; Gin returns HTTP 500 for each request while the PCF process and other endpoints remain available.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
