CVE-2026-44254Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service crash via offset decompression buffer overflow

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Wazuh manager before 4.14.6 and in 5.0.0-beta1 allows remote authenticated users to crash remoted. HandleSecureMessage passes a pointer ten bytes into its stack buffer to ReadSecMSG, which permits os_zlib_uncompress to append a null byte beyond the buffer after a maximum-size expansion. Exploitation requires a valid enrolled agent key and TCP access to port 1514; the build-dependent overwrite can interrupt agent message processing.
