Service interruption via unbounded nested array aggregation
Published Jun 11, 2026 · Updated Jun 11, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Netty RedisArrayAggregator before 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.14.Final allows remote attackers to crash services. The handler pushes an AggregateState and allocates an ArrayList for every nested Redis array header without enforcing a depth limit, eventually exhausting JVM heap memory. Exposure requires an application to use RedisArrayAggregator for untrusted Redis traffic; successful exploitation terminates processing with an OutOfMemoryError.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
