CVE-2026-44191Public exploit

Code execution via shell-interpolated container settings

Published Jul 22, 2026 · Updated Jul 22, 2026

Command injection in Red Hat’s Visual Studio Code Ansible extension allows attackers to execute code through crafted workspace settings. The extension concatenates containerOptions and volumeMounts values into shell command strings, allowing separators to append attacker-controlled commands. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted workspace; execution occurs during Language Server initialization or when a playbook runs, with the Visual Studio Code user’s privileges.
