Unauthenticated administrator takeover via spoofed forwarded IP
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Authentication bypass in Cleanuparr before 2.9.10 allows remote attackers to obtain administrator access via a spoofed forwarded IP. TrustedNetworkAuthenticationHandler.ResolveClientIp trusts the leftmost X-Forwarded-For value, although the originating client controls it. Exploitation requires two opt-in trust settings and an appending reverse proxy; success exposes the permanent API key, stored service secrets, and administrative control.
