SQL injection via incorrect Big5 escaping

SQL injection in MariaDB Connector/C 3.3.18 and 3.4.8 allows remote attackers to alter database queries through crafted Big5 input. The Big5 path in mysql_real_escape_string() fails to neutralize a quote following a crafted lead byte, leaving subsequent SQL syntax executable. Exploitation requires an application to escape unvalidated input with this function and interpolate the result into a text-protocol query using Big5.
