Full device compromise via premature firewall termination
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Firewall bypass in Phoenix Contact CHARX SEC-3xxx firmware before 1.9.1 allows remote attackers to access internal services during shutdown. Shutdown scripts stop the firewall before internal services, leaving those services reachable until the remaining shutdown sequence completes. Exploitation requires network reachability during this brief shutdown window; successful access grants a path to full device compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
