SSH access via cleartext password in logs
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Sensitive data exposure in Phoenix Contact CHARX SEC-3xxx firmware before 1.9.1 allows local users to obtain user-app credentials from logs. The log-generation path records the local user-app account password in log files accessible to low-privileged users. Log access is required; the exposed password permits SSH authentication only as limited user-app, and resulting access can interrupt charging.
