CVE-2026-44090Network attack vector

Full device compromise via unauthenticated MQTT access

Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026

Missing authentication in Phoenix Contact CHARX SEC-3xxx firmware before 1.9.1 allows remote attackers to access its MQTT broker. The broker accepts unauthenticated network connections and relies solely on an external firewall to prevent reachability. An attacker who can reach the broker through an exposed or permitted network path can take full control of the charging controller.
