Application interruption via invalid ICCBased component count
Published Mar 18, 2026 · Updated Mar 18, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Xpdf 4.06 and earlier allows local users to interrupt PDF processing with a crafted ICCBased color space. The ICCBased color-space parser accepts an N component count outside the valid range and uses it while writing array-backed color state. Triggering requires a malformed PDF to be processed locally; the published assessment reports application interruption without data disclosure or modification.
