Authenticated LDAP query manipulation via unescaped names

LDAP injection in Netatalk 2.1.0 through 4.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to read limited data or modify LDAP entries. The libatalk ACL code interpolates client-influenced name values into LDAP search filters without escaping LDAP metacharacters. Exploitation requires LDAP-backed ACL or identity mapping and valid low-privilege access; the resulting query confusion has limited confidentiality and integrity impact.
