Authenticated asset hierarchy disclosure via missing authorization
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Missing authorization in Craft CMS 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.9.17 allows remote authenticated users to read asset names and folder metadata. The actionShowInFolder method accepts an arbitrary asset ID, queries Asset::findOne without an editable or savable scope, and serializes the filename and full volume folder hierarchy without enforcing viewAssets or viewPeerAssets. Any control-panel account with accessCp permission can enumerate metadata for volumes it cannot view, but the flaw does not disclose asset contents directly.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
