Sandbox escape in Patrik Simek vm2 before 3.11.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands through crafted JavaScript. With nesting enabled, the legacy resolver injects vm2 despite require being false, allowing sandbox code to create an inner NodeVM that exposes child_process. Exploitation requires a host application to run attacker-supplied code in a NodeVM configured with nesting enabled.
