Authenticated workout data disclosure via template routine IDOR
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
Incorrect authorization in wger before 2.6 allows remote authenticated users to read other users' private workout history through its REST API. RoutinePermission.has_object_permission treats every template routine as readable, so RoutineViewSet's logs and stats actions return the owner's records. A basic account and a victim-owned public template routine are required; the result is disclosure of notes, exercise history, and training statistics.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
