CVE-2026-43934Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-user comment modification via identifier-only update

Published May 26, 2026 · Updated May 26, 2026

Broken access control in e107 2.3.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify comments posted by other users. The legacy editsubmit path in comment::enter_comment() updates the comments table using an attacker-chosen comment_id without checking ownership or moderator permission. Any caller allowed to post comments can overwrite another user's comment; stock installations require a registered member, while sites permitting anonymous comments expose the route without an account.
