Path traversal in bx33661 Wireshark MCP 1.1.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to write files via a crafted packet capture. The wireshark_export_objects tool passes its dest_dir argument to tshark after _validate_output_path skips restriction when _allowed_dirs is None. Exploitation requires an AI client to process the crafted capture and invoke a write-capable tool while WIRESHARK_MCP_ALLOWED_DIRS is unset.
