Internal data disclosure via incomplete SSRF validation
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
Server-side request forgery in OP Engineering link-preview-js before 4.0.1 allows remote attackers to read internal data via crafted URLs. The getLinkPreview URL validation omits IPv6 loopback and local-range forms and, without resolveDNSHost, fetches hostnames before checking their resolved internal address. An application must pass attacker-controlled URLs to the Node.js fetch path; successful requests can expose internal services or cloud metadata to the caller.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
