Authenticated phishing emails via unsanitized message rendering
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
HTML injection in AVideo 29.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to send platform-branded phishing email to channel subscribers. notifySubscribers.json.php passes the raw message parameter to sendSiteEmail, which inserts it into an HTML template and renders it with PHPMailer without sanitization or encoding. Upload permission and a same-origin request are required; the resulting email can contain phishing links, tracking pixels, or spoofed interface content for as many as 10,000 channel subscribers.
