Session-cookie disclosure via missing Secure attribute
Published May 25, 2026 · Updated May 25, 2026
Cookie protection failure in Apache Shiro 1.0 through 2.1.0 and 3.0.0-alpha-1 allows remote attackers to intercept session cookies. Native-session and persistent-login managers emit sensitive authentication cookies without setting the Secure attribute by default. Exploitation requires an authenticated browser to transmit the cookie over an unencrypted connection; exposure is limited to cookie confidentiality.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
