CVE-2026-43807

App termination via accessory-triggered buffer overflow

Published Jul 27, 2026 · Updated Jul 27, 2026

Buffer overflow in MobileAccessoryUpdater in affected Apple operating systems allows physically proximate attackers to terminate an app. The component fails to enforce adequate bounds while handling data from a malicious accessory, allowing the data to overrun a buffer; Apple has not disclosed the affected operation or buffer. Triggering requires a malicious accessory interacting with the device, and the reported consequence is app termination rather than system compromise.
