Memory corruption in CoreMedia across affected Apple operating systems allows attackers to crash apps by processing crafted video files. CoreMedia performs unsafe memory handling while parsing attacker-controlled video data; Apple has not disclosed the faulty operation or memory-lifetime error. A target app must process the file, and affected releases are iOS and iPadOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS before 26.6 plus macOS Sonoma before 14.8.8, Sequoia before 15.7.8, and Tahoe before 26.6; the reported consequence is app termination, not system shutdown.
