Published Jul 27, 2026 · Updated Jul 27, 2026
Missing authorization in Apple macOS Sonoma before 14.8.8 and Sequoia before 15.7.8 allows local users to read a legacy VNC password. Screen Sharing Server applies insufficient entitlement checks when a local caller requests the configured legacy VNC credential. A low-privileged local account is required, and disclosure is limited to systems where Screen Sharing has a legacy VNC password configured.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
