CVE-2026-43656Network attack vector

App crash via Quick Look out-of-bounds write

Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Quick Look in Apple iOS, iPadOS, and macOS allows attackers to crash an app via a malicious file. Apple identifies deficient input validation but has not disclosed the affected parser path, file format, or exact unchecked value that causes the write beyond its intended bounds. The vulnerable Quick Look parser must process attacker-controlled file content; Apple reports app termination and does not describe system compromise or code execution.
