Authenticated command execution via opaque applet dispatch
Published May 5, 2026 · Updated May 5, 2026
Incorrect authorization in OpenClaw before 2026.4.12 allows remote authenticated users to bypass exec approval for unsafe applets. The run-plan logic in src/node-host/invoke-system-run-plan.ts treated busybox and toybox as ordinary safe executables, binding approval to the multiplexer name instead of the dispatched applet or script behavior. Exposure begins with 2026.2.23 and requires low-privileged network access plus an exec path that can invoke either multi-call binary; successful abuse executes commands outside the intended approval decision.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
