Unauthenticated traffic relay via missing activation authorization
Published May 1, 2026 · Updated May 1, 2026
Incorrect authorization in mod_proxy65 in Prosody before 0.12.6 and 1.0.0 through 13.0.4 allows remote attackers to relay traffic. The activation path omits the ACL check applied during service discovery, so clients that know the proxy domain and port can skip discovery. The non-default module must be enabled, and both peers must connect and complete SOCKS5 handshakes; the proxy cannot initiate arbitrary outbound connections.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
