Kernel panic via failed Nouveau ACPI probes
Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026
Improper warning handling in Linux Kernel 6.7 through 6.18.18 and 6.19 through 6.19.8 allows local users to interrupt service. On failed Nouveau GSP ACPI evaluations, r535_gsp_acpi_caps and r535_gsp_acpi_jt pass the error result to WARN_ON instead of returning it normally. Linux has not published how local users can force those ACPI failures; a warning panics the kernel only when panic_on_warn is enabled, while the default is to continue.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
