CVE-2026-43480

Kernel crash via unchecked clock error pointer

Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026

NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux Kernel ASoC AMD driver allows local users to crash the kernel during a clock acquisition failure. The acp3x_5682_init() path fails to validate both acquired clock pointers before rt5682_clk_enable() dereferences them. Reachability requires local low-privileged access and the affected AMD ACP3x RT5682/MAX9836 audio path to encounter a failed clock lookup; the bounded consequence is a kernel crash.
