CVE-2026-43474

Local service interruption via uninitialized file attribute flag

Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026

Use of uninitialized data in Linux Kernel 6.17 through 6.18.18, 6.19 through 6.19.8, and 7.0-rc1 allows local users to interrupt service. The file_getattr syscall leaves file_kattr.flags_valid uninitialized before vfs_fileattr_get passes it to fuse_fileattr_get, which reads the stale stack value to select a code path. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and a FUSE file-attribute request; the reported consequence is limited to system availability.
