CVE-2026-43471

Kernel crash via unchecked UFS hardware queue pointer

Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in the Linux Kernel UFS core allows local users to crash an affected system through UFS operations. ufshcd_add_command_trace() dereferences hwq->id without checking whether ufshcd_mcq_req_to_hwq() returned NULL. Reachability requires local low-privilege access and the affected UFS multi-queue completion path; the bounded consequence is a kernel crash and service interruption.
